Meet Lorraine Faulk
Why Functional Medicine?
Hello! Iam a dedicated healthcare professional with a rich background spanning over 28 years in nursing, particularly specializing in the Critical Care/ Cardiovascular patient population, administrative roles as well as a Clinical Support Specialist in the Medical device industry, focusing on cardiovascular care.
My journey took an unexpected turn in 2017 when diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease known as Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) and recently Hemochromatosis. After undergoing extensive testing, feeling at a loss because of the minimal treatment options available, this propelled me into the new role as my own advocate. I discovered the challenges of finding a good healthcare team that is willing to listen. I also learned how to navigate the complexities of insurance and pharmaceutical companies to find funding and gain authorizations for physician ordered cares.
The thought of having to add more into my daily healthcare routine inspired me to seek Natural alternative methods to care for myself. Finding the Functional Medicine approach was the perfect fit. I immersed myself into learning new tools for my health to secure the care I needed. I became board-certified as a Functional Medicine Practitioner/ Nurse Health Coach.
Determined to enhance my well-being, I still embrace traditional medicine but also believe in the path of functional medicine and discovering the power of natural alternatives. This experience has not only transformed my health but also deepened my commitment to guiding others through their healthcare journeys.
With a heart for service and an extensive knowledge base, as a Registered Nurse and Functional Medicine Nurse Health Coach I am passionate about empowering patients to take charge of their health, exploring innovative care options, and providing education and consultative services that bridges the gap between traditional and holistic medicine.
Join me as SHS embarks on a path to wellness, informed by experience, led by compassion, and inspired by the resilience of the human spirit.
At a young age I embraced the rural lifestyle of Utah and fell in love with everything it had to offer. Having moved to Morgan, Utah when I was 10 and loved to explore new things, I was blessed to live within close proximity to many world class ski resorts, great fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking trails to keep me entertained. Now, as an adult, I still enjoy everything Utah has to offer but found that I have a love to explore different cultures too. When travelling for pleasure, I enjoy learning about the local traditions, history and trying new authentic food. I also enjoy spending time with my family, riding my motorcycle, spending time on the mountain camping, hunting and cooking delicious dutch oven food and or reading a good book. With three grown children and six grandchildren; life has given me countless cherished moments and a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life, nature and community.

Board Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner/ Nurse Health coach.
Functional medicine practitioners focus on identifying the underlying causes of health issues rather than just treating symptoms. They explore factors such as genetics, lifestyle, environment, and nutrition to understand the root causes of imbalances.
Associate of Science in Nursing
As a Registered Nurse, I've had the honor of serving my community and working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in a non-judgmental capacity, with a specialization in critical care patient populations.
Bachelor's of Science in Technical Sales
Technical Sales has equipped me with the necessary tools to bridge the gap between technology and commerce. Technical Sales is a complex field that demands a strategic approach, necessitating the cultivation of both technical expertise and interpersonal skills.
